Old-Fashioned Champagne Cocktail
A classic cocktail made with Champagne for the most festive night of the year! Say "cheers!" with this mix of bourbon, orange bitters and bubbly Champagne.

- 1½ ounces Kentucky bourbon
- 1½ ounces simple syrup (see recipe below)
- ½ ounce orange liquor
- a few dashes of orange bitters
- dry Champagne, chilled
- 1 maraschino cherry
- 1 orange twist
In a champagne or coupe glass, add the bourbon, simple syrup, orange liquor and bitters. Top with Champagne.
Add a cherry. Twist the orange peel and swipe it along the inside of the rim of the glass. Drop into the drink. Enjoy.
-to make simple syrup: combine 1/2 cup (110 g) sugar, 1/4 cup (60 ml) water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Allow to cool before using. Makes 1/2 cup simple syrup.
-the amount of simple syrup can vary from 1-2 ounces, depending on how sweet you like your cocktail to be. It may be omitted entirely as well, if desired.
